Published by George H. Doran Company, New York, copyright 1918, this guide to women’s physical fitness was written by Annette Kellermann, the Australian professional swimmer, vaudeville performer, and silent film actress who was among the most famous athletes of the early twentieth century.
The book covers breathing, bathing, swimming, dancing, diet, skin care, and posture, drawn entirely from Kellermann’s own disciplined practice.
Illustrated with black-and-white photographic plates, most featuring Kellermann herself demonstrating exercises, swimming positions, and movement technique.
Green cloth hardcover with gilt spine lettering; pages toned with age, two ownership inscriptions in ink. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
