The American Speaker, Antique 1909 Recitals in Poetry and Verse

The American Speaker is a delightful anthology from 1909 compiled by Henry Davenport Northrop. 

From the title page:

"Containing the choicest recitations and readings from the best authors for public schools, parlor entertainments, social gatherings, sunday school, etc including recitals in prose and poetry, selections with musical accompaniments, dialogues, tableaux, etc. Embellished with superb phototype engravings and line drawings". 

This antique book was sourced from the estate of an avid book collector. Inscription on inside front cover with purchase information and name of owner. Original inscription dated Christmas 1910 in pencil. Fair condition: loose binding, one loose page, major cover wear.
