70,000 to 1, The Story of Lieutenant Gordon Manuel, Quentin Reynolds, 1946, First Printing
Who wrote it: 70,000 to 1, The Story of Lieutenant Gordon Manuel, is by war correspondent Quentin Reynolds, published by Random House, copyright 1946, first printing.
What it's about: In 1943 Manuel's B-17 was shot down over New Britain, and he spent more than eight months hiding in the jungle behind Japanese lines, sheltered by local people, until a submarine picked him up. The jacket calls it the story of a modern Robinson Crusoe.
Condition: Tan cloth hardcover with red and navy lettering, clean; dust jacket present but heavily chipped and torn, with large losses at the spine and lower edge and tape repairs on the reverse. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
Thanks so much for visiting,
❤️ Jess
