What it's about: Toland traces Hitler's life from his childhood in Austria through the First World War, the Beer Hall Putsch, the rise of the Nazi Party, Kristallnacht, the war, and the final days in Berlin. Built on hundreds of interviews with people who knew him, it remains one of the most detailed narrative accounts of how he came to power and the catastrophe that followed.

Condition: Two hardcovers in black and red textured boards with gilt spine lettering, no dust jackets; Volume I worn and chipped at the head of the spine with rubbed corners, Volume II with light rubbing and a faint mark across the spine, interiors clean.
