This children’s story follows Anna Witch, who lives with her mother, Ada Witch, and their owl, Otto, in a gingerbread-and-candy house deep in the forest. By day, Ada tends her herb garden and teaches Anna magic; by night they fly on broomsticks to gather with other witches.

Trouble begins when Anna struggles to learn her spells and, in a moment of anger, accidentally turns her mother into a frog. Left alone, Anna must confront the consequences of her temper and discovers what truly matters about family and forgiveness.
