Antique Blue Gilt Decorative 1800s French Book Bundle

A striking set of five antique French books in layered shades of royal blue, cobalt, and soft sky blue, with elaborate gold-stamped covers featuring scrolling vines, fleur-de-lis medallions, and lacy borders. These Catholic moral tales and saints' lives were the kind of books given as school prizes in 19th-century France, and one still holds its original prize label from the École Sainte-Philomène, Maison de St. Joseph in Saint-Étienne, awarded for French language in 1900.
