A rugged set of three antique leather-bound volumes of The American Stud Book in worn shades of saddle brown, cognac, and honey, with gilt-tooled spines, oxblood and navy leather labels, and marbled boards. The timeworn leather has wonderful texture, perfect for equestrian decor, a tack room, a farmhouse or ranch-style interior, or a moody library shelf.
The American Stud Book is the official registry of Thoroughbred racehorses, first compiled by S.D. Bruce and later taken over by The Jockey Club. Its pages list horses, their sires, and their dams, a fun conversation piece for any horse lover or Kentucky Derby fan.
Together they measure approximately 9.25 x 7 inches.
This set includes:
π The American Stud Book, Vol. VI (S.D. Bruce)
π The American Stud Book, Vol. VII (The Jockey Club, 1898)
π The American Stud Book, Vol. IX (The Jockey Club, 1906)
**Condition**
These are very shabby and best suited for decor. Expect cracked, chipped, and peeling leather, worn corners, and loose pages. Vol. VI is missing both covers, and the front cover of Vol. IX is detached but included.
