An illustrated late-19th-century edition of The Thousand and One Nights published by Porter & Coates of Philadelphia. This copy includes numerous wood engravings from original designs, with stories such as “The Enchanted Horse,” “The Fisherman and the Genie,” and the voyages of Sinbad.
Bound in decorative brown cloth with elaborate black and gilt stamping on the cover and spine, characteristic of Victorian gift editions.
The front endpaper shows wear and partial loss, and there is an early signature inside. A visually striking antique edition that captures the ornate book design of the 1880s.
