Who wrote it: "At Home with Southern Living: Living Spaces, Additions, Remodeling with Floor Plans," edited by Katherine Pearson with an introduction by Philip Morris and the Homes Staff of Southern Living Magazine, published by Oxmoor House in 1984, a home design and remodeling guide.

What it's about: Drawing on real Southern houses and their floor plans, the book walks readers room by room through additions, remodeling, and rethinking living spaces, from kitchens to porches to garden rooms. It is a snapshot of 1980s Southern domestic taste, part practical renovation manual and part aspirational house tour.

Why I like it: This is my very favorite design book of the 1980s! I think it's a perfect blend of real, family-friendly design and captures the best of the 1980s.

Condition: Tan cloth hardcover with gilt spine lettering, pictorial dust jacket present. The dust jacket shows wear and a tape repair at the head of the spine, with some edge chipping. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
