Who wrote it: This is a five volume matching set from Arno Press's "Architectural Treasures of Early America" series, reprinted in 1977 from material originally published as The White Pine Series of Architectural Monographs, edited by Russell F. Whitehead and Frank Chouteau Brown and prepared for this series by the staff of The Early American Society. The five red cloth volumes are Early Homes of Massachusetts, Colonial Architecture in Massachusetts, Colonial Architecture in New England, Early Homes of Rhode Island, and Early Homes of New England.
What it's about: Each volume gathers detailed architectural surveys, floor plans, and photographs of early American homes, meetinghouses, and landmarks across New England, the kind of material architects and preservationists once relied on to document colonial and federal era buildings. Together they make a cohesive reference set for anyone drawn to early American architecture and craftsmanship.
Condition: Red cloth hardcovers, no dust jackets, sold as a five volume set with light wear to the spine ends, most noticeably a small crease at the head of the Early Homes of Massachusetts spine. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
Thanks so much for visiting,
❤️ Jess
