Drums Along the Mohawk by Walter D. Edmonds, published by Little, Brown and Company as an Atlantic Monthly Press book, is a landmark American historical novel set in the Mohawk Valley of New York during the Revolutionary War.
First published in 1936, adapted into the John Ford film in 1939, and reprinted here in its sixtieth printing. The novel follows young settlers Gil and Lana Martin as they struggle to carve out a life on the frontier amid raids, loss, and the grinding hardships of colonial warfare. The endpapers carry a detailed map of the Mohawk Valley, 1775–1783.
Former school library copy from Germantown High School, with library stamps, call number labels, and a date-due card with borrower names present inside. Dust jacket is covered by mylar jacket.
