Who wrote it: These three companion books are by James Lipton, author of the cult favorite An Exaltation of Larks, and were designed by Kedakai Lipton. Villard Books published Business and Finance and Home and Family in 1993, and Romance & Revelry in 1994.

What it's about: Lipton takes the old tradition of collective nouns, like a pride of lions or a murder of crows, and invents new ones for modern life, such as "a pad of expense accounts," "a flutter of bridesmaids," and "an anxiety of homeowners." Each phrase is paired with a Victorian engraving, so every page is a small, dry joke.

Condition: Quarter cloth hardcovers with original dust jackets, all clean and bright. Each book has a previous owner's name and a 1994 date written on the title page or front endpaper. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
