The Fight for the Valley is a novel by William O. Stoddard, published by D. Appleton and Company in New York in 1904. Subtitled a story of the Siege of Fort Schuyler and the Battle of Oriskany in the Burgoyne Campaign of 1777, it is a patriotic adventure tale rooted in the Revolutionary War frontier.

Stoddard served as one of Abraham Lincoln's personal secretaries before turning to fiction, and he wrote prolifically for young readers.

Blue decorated cloth hardcover with gilt lettering and a stamped pictorial cover design showing a colonial soldier by a moonlit lake; some general wear and light soiling to the cloth. Interior clean with color frontispiece intact. Christmas inscription on front endpaper. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
