Who wrote it: The French Chef Cookbook is Julia Child's 1973 companion volume to her television series, with drawings and photographs by her husband Paul Child, published by Alfred A. Knopf.
What it's about: Drawing on recipes and lessons from her "The French Chef" television show, Child walks home cooks through French technique with her usual warmth and directness. It remains one of the most approachable introductions to French cooking ever written for an American kitchen.
Special features: This copy carries a vintage bookstore label inside from the Economy Book and Stationery Store in Syracuse, New York, a nice trace of its earlier life.
Condition: Red cloth hardcover with printed dust jacket. The jacket has significant tears at the spine head and along the front panel, though the boards beneath are undamaged. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
Thanks so much for visiting,
❤️ Jess
