Helen's Babies by John Habberton. Published by Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1908. A Grosset & Dunlap reprint of this wildly popular 19th-century comic novel, complete with period cover design and illustrations. Includes a handwritten inscription from a previous owner on the endpaper.

First published in 1876, Helen's Babies is the tongue-in-cheek account of a bachelor uncle saddled for two weeks with the care of his sister Helen's two small and irrepressible sons, Budge and Toddie.

Hardcover in good vintage condition for its age. The decorated cloth binding shows rubbing at the spine ends and corners with expected shelf wear. The spine is intact and the gilt lettering remains legible. Interior pages are clean with the warm toning typical of early-20th-century paper and the previous-owner inscription on the endpaper. Binding is sound.
