Who wrote it: "Joy of Cooking" by Irma S. Rombauer and Marion Rombauer Becker, published by The Bobbs-Merrill Company, this printing carrying a copyright line running from 1931 through 1964, a classic mid-century printing of America's best known home cookbook.

What it's about: Joy of Cooking has taught generations of American cooks everything from boiling an egg to butchering game, written in Rombauer's chatty, opinionated voice and expanded over the decades by her daughter Marion. This particular printing captures the book near its classic mid-century form, the edition many longtime cooks still reach for by preference.

Condition: Teal cloth hardcover, no dust jacket present. The front and back hinge shows a crack with visible separation at the inner spine, along with general shelf wear to the boards. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
