Who wrote it: Keeping Healthy is part of the Health and Growth Series by W. W. Charters, Dean F. Smiley, and Ruth M. Strang, published by Macmillan. Copyright 1935; this copy is the July 1936 printing.

What it's about: This Depression-era health reader taught children about posture, food, sleep, and safety through stories and photographs. It is a fascinating look at how schools taught wellness in the 1930s.

Special features: Drawings by Corinne Pauli Waterall and photographs throughout.

Condition: Green pictorial cloth hardcover with wear at the spine. The front pastedown and endpaper are heavily stained, with a previous owner's name and pencil marks. There are some page tears as well. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.

Thanks so much for visiting,
❤️ Jess
