**Who wrote it**
The Ladies' Home Journal Book of Landscaping and Outdoor Living was written by Richard Pratt, designed by James Darby, and published by Evans-Lippincott in 1963. Copyright is held by the Curtis Publishing Company. The illustrations draw on color material from Ladies' Home Journal going back to 1949.
**What it's about**
A guide to the landscaping and outdoor spaces of mid-century American homes, illustrated with color photographs and drawings from one of the most widely read magazines of its era. It covers everything from garden design to patios and pools, and the images are a wonderful visual record of how Americans imagined their ideal outdoor life in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
**Why I like it**
The photographs and drawings of mid-century houses and yards are so fun!
**Condition**

Thanks so much for visiting,
❤️ Jess
