Issued by J.G. Cotta'sche Buchhandlung Nachfolger, Stuttgart and Berlin, the same prestigious house that published both Goethe and Schiller during their lifetimes. Printed by the Union Deutsche Verlagsgesellschaft, Stuttgart.

Approximately 8 inches tall, 24 inches total shelf width
Striking half-leather bindings with tortoiseshell marbled paper boards
Black leather spines with gilt Fraktur titles, volume numbers in gilt oval wreaths, and decorative geometric border tooling
Gilt Cotta griffin colophon (MDCXL) stamped to base of spine
Condition: Shows age and honest wear consistent with a century-old set. Leather is worn and shows some red rot/fading; marbled boards retain beautiful patterning. Bindings are structurally sound. Please review all photos carefully.
