Lonesome Traveler is a collection of autobiographical essays by Jack Kerouac, published in 1960, that reflects his Beat-era travels, observations, and philosophical musings. The pieces move through America, Mexico, and Europe, touching on solitude, movement, work, spirituality, and marginal lives.
Contents include essays such as Piers of the Homeless Night, Mexico Fellaheen, The Railroad Earth, Slobs of the Kitchen Sea, New York Scenes, and The Vanishing American Hobo. The book includes drawings by Larry Rivers and is issued here in its first edition by McGraw-Hill.
Condition:
Hardcover with original dust jacket. Dust jacket shows heavy wear including large chips, tears, edge losses, creasing, and surface soiling; portions of the jacket are missing, particularly along the top edge.
