Progress of Stories by Laura Riding is a celebrated collection of experimental prose fiction, combining story, fable, and critical reflection in a form entirely Riding’s own. First published in 1935, the work has long been regarded as a landmark in modernist literature, and this revised edition includes Riding’s own retrospective commentary on the stories and her evolving views on the nature of fiction and truth.

This is the First Printing of the revised and expanded edition, published by The Dial Press, New York, in 1982.

The navy blue cloth boards are clean and square with no fading. The dust jacket is present and in very good condition, with only light shelf wear at the extremities. The interior is clean and bright throughout with no foxing, underlining, or ownership markings.
