Red Feather’s Adventures, 1958 Printing, Vintage School Book

Red Feather’s Adventures is a 1958 printing of the 1938 Lyons & Carnahan school reader by Jane Curtis Gifford and E. George Payne, illustrated by Joseph M. O’Malley.

Written for elementary grades, the book follows the fictional adventures of a young Native American boy and was intended to introduce students to mid-century interpretations of Indigenous life in the central Mississippi Valley.

The text is accompanied by bright full-color illustrations and dramatic silhouette endpapers. This copy includes a handwritten note on the front endpaper and shows light general wear but remains clean and intact.
