**Who wrote it**
Richard Halliburton's Complete Book of Marvels was written by Richard Halliburton and published by Bobbs-Merrill Company with maps by Gene Jarvis. The material was originally published across several books in 1937, 1938, and 1941; this edition brings it all together and was copyrighted in 1960.

**What it's about**
A tour of the world's wonders, from the Taj Mahal to the Grand Canyon, written as personal narrative by a man who actually went to all of them. Halliburton was one of the great adventure writers of the early twentieth century.

**Special features**
The book is illustrated with photographs throughout, and the dust jacket is intact, showing wear at the spine edge and corners. Under the jacket, the navy boards are clean and handsome with a gold-embossed design.

**Why I like it**
This book has never gone out of style with homeschooling families, and it is easy to see why. Halliburton writes as if the world is a playground and he has a personal invitation to all of it.
