Roses, Peter Coats, 1973.
Who wrote it: Roses is by English garden writer Peter Coats, copyright 1962, this edition first published by Octopus Books of London in 1973.
What it's about: Coats traces the rose through history, art, and the garden, from ancient Rome to the great rose breeders of the twentieth century. It is as much a picture book as a garden book, and lovely to leave out on a table.
Special features: 119 illustrations in color and black and white, including Redouté rose prints. The pictorial boards match the dust jacket, and a previous owner's illustrated bookplate is on the front endpaper.
Condition: Pictorial hardcover with matching dust jacket, light wear. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
Thanks so much for visiting,
❤️ Jess
