Who wrote it: Sandy Was a Soldier's Boy is a children's novel by the Scottish novelist David Walker, published by Collins of London in 1957, the same year Walker's Geordie made him widely known.

What it's about: Sandy is a boy growing up on an army post, and the story follows him through the scrapes and small adventures of that world with Walker's easy, affectionate humor. It is a gentle period piece of postwar Scottish family life.

Condition: Blue cloth hardcover in its original illustrated dust jacket, with chipping and small closed tears at the spine ends. The front free endpaper carries a 1957 gift inscription. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
