What it's about: It gathers firsthand accounts from men and women taken captive on the American frontier, from James Smith's years among the Caughnawagas to Fanny Kelly's captivity among the Sioux, each framed by Drimmer's own introduction.

Condition: Maroon cloth hardcover with the title stamped on the spine, no dust jacket. This is a former library book, with a library stamp on the page edges and a call number label on the spine, plus light wear at the corners and spine ends.
