Who wrote it: Song of the Sky is Guy Murchie's lyrical exploration of the air, weather, and the science of flight, written and illustrated by the author and published by Houghton Mifflin through The Riverside Press in 1954.

What it's about: Part science and part poetry, the book follows a pilot's fascination with the ocean of air overhead, from clouds and storms to navigation and the physics of wings. It is a thoughtful read for anyone drawn to aviation, weather, or the natural world.

Special features: Murchie illustrated the book himself, and his drawings of birds, clouds, and celestial charts run throughout, decorating even the endpapers.

Condition: Blue cloth hardcover with pictorial dust jacket; the jacket has some edge wear and light chipping at the spine ends, and the interior is clean. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
