Standard Bible Story Readers: Book Six is the final volume in Lillie A. Faris’s graded Bible reader series, created for upper–elementary students. This volume includes retellings of major Old Testament and New Testament stories written in accessible language while preserving traditional phrasing.

It also incorporates poetry, hymns, moral lessons, and short patriotic selections, reflecting the era’s approach to character-building education.

Illustrated by O.A. Stemler and Bess Bruce Cleaveland, the book features full-color plates and black-and-white drawings that accompany stories of Solomon, Moses, Samuel, and other key biblical figures. A Christmas 1944 gift inscription appears on the front endpaper.
