The Story of Crisco is a brand cookbook created by Procter & Gamble to introduce their new vegetable shortening, Crisco, to American home cooks. Written by Marion Harris Neil, the book contains 615 tested recipes and a calendar of dinners, and includes a narrative chapter titled "The Story of Crisco" explaining the product and its properties.

The recipes cover breads, biscuits, cakes, cookies, croquettes, doughnuts, and many other categories. The book was priced at twenty-five cents and distributed broadly. It was published in 1913 by Procter & Gamble.

The teal/blue-gray cloth boards show general soiling and surface wear. The illustrated paste-on front panel depicting figures examining a cookbook shows visible scuffing and wear at the edges. The spine corners are frayed. The front endpaper shows a significant tear with a portion missing in the lower right area. A handwritten recipe titled "Chess Pie" with ingredient measurements and brief instructions is inscribed on the rear endpaper.
