Who wrote it: Sung Under the Silver Umbrella is a children's poetry anthology selected by the Literature Committee of the Association for Childhood Education International, illustrated by Dorothy Lathrop, first published in 1935, this copy the thirty first printing from 1966.

What it's about: The book gathers rhymes and verse chosen by a national committee of educators, meant as a classroom and library staple for introducing young readers to poetry.

Special features: Illustrated throughout by Dorothy Lathrop, a Caldecott Medal winning illustrator, with pen and ink drawings.

Condition: Cream pictorial library binding with a water stain across the front pastedown and a tape patch near the lower front cover. A former library book with stamps. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
