A two-part illustrated trade reference: Part One covers all aspects of bricklaying including laying foundations, bonding, arching, gauged work, chimneys, fireplaces, cornices, pilasters, and ornamental brickwork; Part Two serves as a practical guide for stone masons, marble workers, and stone contractors, covering arches, stairs, skew bridges, Gothic stonework, and ornamental stonework.

Illustrated throughout with tools, diagrams, and construction details. 

Condition: Maroon cloth hardcover with gilt lettering and decorative border. Boards are clean and square with only light wear to spine ends and corners. Interior pages show age toning consistent with 1905 printing; binding is firm and tight. A handsome and well-preserved copy of an early twentieth-century trades manual.
