The Earth for Sam by W. Maxwell Reed presents an accessible introduction to geology and natural history for young readers, tracing the story of the earth from its earliest beginnings through the great geological periods. With detailed line drawings by Karl Moseley, the book covers mountains and rivers, volcanoes, glaciers, dinosaurs, and the Silurian through Pleistocene periods, concluding with “An Imaginary Period.” Copyright 1930 by Harcourt, Brace and Company, Inc.
Condition: Red cloth hardcover with black lettering to front and spine. Covers show noticeable edge and corner wear, fraying at the spine ends, rubbing, and some spotting to the boards. Interior pages show age toning and scattered foxing, primarily to the preliminaries, but remain readable and intact.
