Who wrote it: The Elizabethan Jig and Related Song Drama is by Charles Read Baskerville, published by the University of Chicago Press in March 1929.

What it's about: The jig was the bawdy song-and-dance afterpiece that closed a day at the Elizabethan playhouse, and Baskerville traces its history and prints 36 texts, including German singspiele.

Condition: Red cloth hardcover with gilt spine lettering. The spine is sun faded and there are a few light spots on the front board. Pages are toned. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.

Thanks so much for visiting,
❤️ Jess
