The Harvester is one of Gene Stratton-Porter’s most beloved novels, blending romance, nature writing, and a deep reverence for the Indiana woodlands she so often celebrated. Illustrated by W. L. Jacobs, this early edition features beautiful color plates that bring the story of David Langston—the “Harvester”—and his quest for love and meaning to life.
Hardcover dated August 1911 in decorative mustard-yellow cloth with embossed floral design and green lettering. Binding is worn, with a notable split at the top of the spine cloth and some rubbing to edges and corners.
Interior shows age toning, scattered foxing, and handling marks; several pages display light staining. Front endpapers are fragile with partial separation, frontispiece illustration missing. Binding remains intact overall. Interior illustrated plates are present and retain their color.
