The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, illustrated by Arthur Rackham, with an introduction by A. A. Milne, published by Methuen & Co. Ltd., London, 1956.
Condition: Dark forest green cloth hardcover with faded gilt lettering on spine; no dust jacket. Boards show significant wear including heavy soiling, scratching, scuffing, and surface marks throughout. Spine ends show fraying and the binding is pulling aprt at the spine. Interior pages show light age toning; the full-color Rackham plates remain bright and beautiful. A well-loved reading copy whose illustrations are the real prize.
