Who wrote it: Three Singles to Adventure is an animal-collecting travel memoir by the naturalist Gerald Durrell, with illustrations by Ralph Thompson. First published in 1954, this is a New Windmill Series edition from Heinemann Educational Books.

What it's about: The book follows Durrell and his companions on a six-month expedition to British Guiana in South America, where they track down sloths, anteaters, snakes, and other creatures for British zoos. It is told in Durrell's warm and very funny style, part wildlife adventure and part comic travelogue.

Special features: Ralph Thompson's pen-and-ink animal drawings appear throughout, and this is a yellow pictorial hardcover in the New Windmill Series.

Condition: Yellow pictorial hardcover, clean and solid with light shelf wear. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.

Thanks so much for visiting, ❤️ Jess
