A striking set of six vintage French books in cranberry red with gold Art Deco covers: bold chevrons, diamonds, checkerboards, plaids, and stripes, each with a framed title panel. The gold is faded and worn in a soft, timeworn way that makes the patterns even more charming, perfect for a Parisian-inspired shelf, a child's room, or a red-and-gold holiday display.

Most of these are Casterman (Paris and Tournai) children's editions from the early-to-mid 20th century, with classic French stories for young readers: Joan of Arc told for children, the Comtesse de Ségur's Princesse Rosette, Gulliver among the giants, the legend of Geneviève de Brabant, Xavier de Maistre's La Jeune Sibérienne, and an adventure novel called L'Hélice Mortelle.

Together they measure approximately 9.5 x 4.25 inches.

The gold on the covers is faded and rubbed, and the books show spine and edge wear and some scattered foxing.
