Four volumes from an earlier edition of the Quarrie Corporation's Childcraft series, copyright 1939.
This is the orange-cloth iteration of the set, with the same signature striped spine design as later editions but printed in a warmer red/orange with black labels and gold lettering.
The four volumes cover a nice range: geography and world cultures, early reader stories and nature, poetry, and holidays and biography.
These came from a school, stamped inside: "This book is obsolete and can no longer be used by the Washoe County School District. It is being given to continue its use in education."
Library call numbers are painted on the spine ends in white. The cloth boards show wear, with some fading, scuffing, and fraying at the spine ends and corners.
