Who wrote it: Vogue's Book of Smart Service was prepared by the editors of Vogue and published in 1930 by The Condé Nast Publications (the interior title page reads Vogue's Manual of Smart Service and Table Setting), a household guide from the era of full domestic staff.

What it's about: This etiquette and household service manual covers the duties of butlers, chauffeurs, and maid servants alongside the correct way to set a table for luncheon or dinner, complete with illustrated diagrams for fruit cocktail, entrée, and full dinner service. It is a detailed time capsule of how a well staffed household was expected to run in 1930.

Condition: Blue green cloth hardcover, no dust jacket, with noticeable foxing and spotting to the interior pages, particularly the title page and table of contents. Please review all photos carefully, and email me with any questions.
