Wild Flowers and How to Grow Them by Edwin F. Steffek is a mid-20th-century guide to identifying, cultivating, and preserving native wildflowers. The book covers where wildflowers grow, how to transplant and propagate them, and the importance of conservation, with sections on soil, light, timing, and common challenges. It is illustrated with numerous drawings and color plates that support both identification and growing guidance.
This copy is a fourth printing from May 1963. It is a hardcover with the original dust jacket. The dust jacket shows heavy wear, including tears, creasing, edge loss, and chipping, and is now detached in two pieces. The green cloth boards are clean overall with light shelf wear at the corners and spine ends. The binding remains intact, and the interior pages show light age-related toning, with illustrations and plates present and clean.
